Four charged with first degree murder in death of Toronto man

Jahmal Joseph Richardson, 31, of Oakville; Kyle Sparks MacKinnon, 26, of Toronto; Mitchell Mannette, 20, of Halifax; and Denzell Tyresse Walter Desmond, 19, of Halifax; have been arrested by the Toronto police and charged with First-Degree Murder in the shooting death of  Charles Shillingford, 25.

The shooting occurred in the  Yonge Street and Charles Street area of Toronto  on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 2:25 a.m.  Shillingford then drove away in a vehicle, and was involved in a collision a few moments later.  The policee located the man in a vehicle suffering from obvious trauma; he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later  and the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

The Homicide Squad executed several search warrants and arrest warrants from Monday, May 2, 2016 to Friday, May 6, 2016, in relation to this investigation.

Kyle Sparks MacKinnon was earlier also  charged by the Homicide Squad –  on Thursday February 11, 2016 -in connection with the murders of  David Eminess, 26, and Quinn Taylor, 29. He has been charged with two counts of Second-Degree Murder and  three counts of Attempt Murder. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Squad at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at, text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637). – CINEWS
