New Delhi, Dec.15 (ANI): Chief Justice of India T.S. Thakur on Tuesday observed that fuel adulteration is a major problem and that kerosene is mixed with petrol at petrol pumps.
The Supreme Court has also asked the Delhi Government and the Centre to join hands and tackle the pollution problem in Delhi-NCR.
The apex court had earlier asked both the Centre and the state government about long or short-term measures that can be adopted to mitigate air pollution in the national capital region.
While hearing the petition of the toll companies which have been opposing its direction on collection of pollution surcharge of commercial vehicles, the Supreme Court had earlier observed that ‘Delhi is earning bad name and air pollution is a serious matter for people’.
Justice Thakur had said that plans must be in place to let the world know what we are doing about pollution. (ANI)
