‘Game Of Thrones’ bags nine Emmys

Los Angeles, Sep 11 (IANS) Popular fantasy drama TV series “Game Of Thrones” has bagged nine Creative Arts Emmys which focus primarily on key technical disciplines and behind-the-scenes crafts of television production.

This year, for the first time, the Television Academy’s Board of Governors voted to expand the Creative Arts Emmys — which hitherto had been a single ceremony — to two consecutive nights at the Microsoft Theater here.

On night one, Saturday, “Game of Thrones” took home nine wins, reports variety.com.

Winning the Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series trophy, the show, which is followed globally, bagged trophies under categories including Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic); Outstanding Costumes for a Period/Fantasy Series, Limited Series or Movie; Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary or Fantasy Programme (One Hour or More); Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie; Outstanding Special Visual Effects; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One-Hour); and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.

The Creative Arts Emmys continue on Sunday.

An edited presentation of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards will air on September 17 on Star English Networks’s channel.
