The Gardiner Expressway will be reduced by one lane in each direction in the area of the recently demolished Dowling Avenue Bridge from Friday, May 20 at 9 p.m. to Tuesday, May 24 at 5 a.m. for preparation work to install the temporary pedestrian bridge.
In addition, the expressway will be reduced by two lanes in each direction during overnight hours on the following days:
• Saturday, May 21 from 1 to 7 a.m.
• Sunday, May 22 from 2 to 8 a.m.
• Monday, May 23 from 1 to 8 a.m.
• Tuesday, May 24 from 2 to 5 a.m.
The temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists will be installed during the weekend of June 4 and 5 (when the expressway will be closed for the Ride for Heart event) and will be open in July.
Motorists can use Lake Shore Boulevard as an alternative route in this area.
