Gardiner reduced to one lane, both ways until May 24 near Dowling Bridge area

gardiner_dowlingThe Gardiner Expressway will be reduced by one lane in each direction in the area of the recently demolished Dowling Avenue Bridge from Friday, May 20 at 9 p.m. to Tuesday, May 24 at 5 a.m. for preparation work to install the temporary pedestrian bridge.

In addition, the expressway will be reduced by two lanes in each direction during overnight hours on the following days:

Saturday, May 21 from 1 to 7 a.m.
Sunday, May 22 from 2 to 8 a.m.
Monday, May 23 from 1 to 8 a.m.
Tuesday, May 24 from 2 to 5 a.m.

The temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists will be installed during the weekend of June 4 and 5 (when the expressway will be closed for the Ride for Heart event) and will be open ‎in July.

Motorists can use Lake Shore Boulevard as an alternative route in this area.
