Gas station targeted for robbery twice in a week

It is usually unlikely that thieves would dare target a location in a short span of time given that there would be more safety precautions taken, but that line of reasoning didn’t stop the Esso gas station at the corner of Steeles Avenue East and Airport Road from being robbed around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 7.

The suspect was armed with a gun when he burst into the store and made a demand for cash and the terrified 33-year-old Brampton woman working at the time remains deeply traumatised by the experience.

The gunman fled the scene with an unknown amount of money in an waiting getaway vehicle driven by another man.

The white vehicle was last seen going eastbound on Steeles Avenue East.

Police don’t believe the latest robbery is connected to a robbery at the same gas station on Tuesday, January 2, in which four suspects burst into the gas station and took money from the till.
