Melbourne, Mar. 19 (ANI): Wrestler Hulk Hogan, who has won the case against Gawker Media, has also been awarded 115 million dollars as compensation.
Jurors took six hours to decide that the media company violated Hogan’s privacy by publishing a now-infamous 1-minute, 41-second clip of the wrestling legend having sex with the wife of his former best pal, Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, News.com au reports.
Shortly after the Florida jury’s verdict, Gawker founder Nick Denton said that he would appeal based on evidence that wasn’t presented in the court.
The company issued a statement that read as, “We’re disappointed the jury was unable to see key evidence and hear testimony from the most important witness.”
The ex-wrestler, whose real name is Terry Bollea, took to his Twitter handle to express his happiness and tweeted, “Thank you God for justice, only love 4Life. HH.”
The jury consisting of two men and four women agreed with Hogan that his privacy had been violated, adding that the violation had caused him harm. (ANI)
