Frankfurt, July 29 (IANS) The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange closed lower at 10,274.93 points.
The blue-chip DAX index went lower on Thursday because many investors are now on vacation, according to local analysts. The index went down by 44.62 points, or 0.43 per cent, Xinhua news agency reported.
Adidas advanced by 2.53 per cent. Thyssenkrupp gained 2.21 per cent. Vonovia, a real estate company, climbed by 1.82 per cent. HeidelbergCement added 0.99 per cent and Commerzbank went up by 0. 92 per cent.
On the other hand, Deutsche Bank plunged by 4.3 per cent.
Volkswagen fell by 3.13 per cent.
BMW slipped by 3.05 per cent. Daimler dropped by 2.6 percent and Linde, an industrial gas company, went down by 1.6 per cent.
Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 358.46 million euros (around $398 million).
