One lane in both directions of Gerrard Street from University Avenue to Elizabeth Street in Toronto, primarily used for on-street parking, will be closed from July 18 to October 15 during work to replace water mains, reconstruct and resurface the road, and upgrade bike lanes and sidewalks.
While the lane closure will be in place for the duration of construction, work will occur between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. There are times when overnight work will be required.
Construction hours on this project have been extended to reduce the project duration.
During the closure, there will be periods of time when it appears there is no work taking place at the site. Crews will be doing work such as watermain disinfection and custom pipe work. The lane will reopen when the work is complete and the road is fully restored.
