GNLA commander escapes police raid

Shillong, Jan. 22 (ANI): The North Garo Hills area commander of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), Rakban D Shira alias Philliport had another narrow escape when the police raided a temporary camp belonging to the outfit.

Though the raid did not materialize in any arrests, a total of 72 black SIM cards were recovered from the place. The encounter between the police and GNLA happened in the early hours today near the village of Thapa Chiring in North Garo Hills.

Police recovered a huge amount of camp materials along with ID cards of the outfit, demand notes, mobile phones as well as rubber stamps from the place of encounter. (ANI)
