Brampton’s animal shelter will host microchip clinics over the next few Wednesdays, the first of which started this Wednesday.
For just $30, dogs and cats can be fitting with technology that would help them find their way home if lost. Clinics take place between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Register at the shelter, over the phone 905-458-5800 or online at brampton.ca.
The shelter is also hosting an open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a fun event catering to the whole family. There will be a barbecue, dunk tank, and a pet-themed garage sale.
The open house also kicks off the shelter’s annual adopt-a-thon, which takes place this Saturday, Sept. 17 to Sept. 24 (visit website for adoption hours). There will be free adoption of cats, kittens and rabbits all week.
On Sept. 24, supporters will lace up for Walk-a-thon for HOPE at noon at the Brampton Animal Shelter on Chrysler Drive.
The annual walk-a-thon is held in support of the Helping Orphaned Pets in Emergencies (HOPE) Fund.
In 2015 the fund helped more than 60 dogs and cats receive upwards of $20,000 in emergency medical procedures. For more information on any of these events, visit brampton.ca/animalservices. -CINEWS
