Gopal Subramaniam playing politics with DDCA scam: BJP

New Delhi, Dec. 29 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday charged former solicitor general Gopal Subramaniam with playing politics for seeking the best officers from the Centre for the DDCA scam probe.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Satish Upadhyay told ANI, “The letter that has been written by Gopal Subramaniam, micro detailing should have been done before writing the letter. Gopal Subramaniam doing politics on behalf of Delhi govt. It is a complete politics. And I don’t think he should be including himself in this politics. Delhi govt. trying to hide its corruption through Subramaniam.”

Subramaniam had earlier written to National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval asking for manpower to investigate the Aam Aadmi Party-alleged irregularities in the DDCA during Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s tenure as president of the body.

Subramaniam has asked for five men each from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Delhi Police to constitute a Special Investigative Team (SIT) that would investigate the matter further.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had earlier hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and demanded his apology after a three-member report on the alleged DDCA scam did not mention Jaitley’s name.

The report of the three-member Enquiry Commission set up by the Delhi Government to probe the affairs of the DDCA does not mention Jaitley ‘s name.

The 247-page document points to issues relating to the reconstruction of the Kotla stadium like alleged irregularities in the construction of corporate boxes, but does not speak of any financial embezzlement during Jaitley’s tenure. (ANI)
