Lucknow, July 7 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government is starting a ‘Heli-Parikrama’ – a 10 minute chopper ride around the famous Goverdhan hill in Mathura from Saturday, an official said here.
Principal Secretary, Tourism, Avanish Awasthi said that the heli-ride would be on trial basis for two days and is being organised by his department and Pawan Hans Ltd.
The fare will be Rs 2,499 and the booking can be done on spot at the DAV college ground helipad at Goverdhan and online on the Pawan Hans website as well, he added.
Tarun Kumar, one of the members of the marketing team, told IANS that a five seater chopper has been requisitioned for the 21-km parikrama and that six sorties have already been booked. The rides will start at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday and further trips will be planned by the stakeholders based on the response.
The Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is trying to hardsell religious tourist destinations to domestic tourists and is set to roll out many such initiatives.
