New Delhi, Sept.17 (ANI): Women activist Jagmati Sangwan on Thursday said the Indian Government could have set an example by punishing the diplomat who raped the two Nepalese women.
“We feel strongly that there was an opportunity with the Indian Government to set an example by punishing the high ups who were involved in crime against women, but they have not shown the will power,” Sangwan told ANI.
“It is a very concerning issue, and more so, when there is a women foreign minister. We feel that it will embolden criminals and disgrace the people who are raising the voice for justice” she added.
She further said that this creates a situation that the international government should look for the immunity clause in a changed situation and it should be amended.(ANI)
