Grade 4 Brampton students win TIFF award for short film


A group of Hickory Wood Public School, Brampton students won the Toronto International Film Festival Jump Cuts Award for the best film for students in Grade 4 to 6. The Grade 4 class created BBN (Ban Bullying News), It was also chosen for the TVO Kid’s Choice Awards.HickoryWood
The script was written, organized and produced by Gurleen Rangi. Other
students involved in the film were: Amrit Mandier (news reporter), Abhay Ratti (bully buster, film editor), William Dao (bully buster, film editor), Ali Butt (news reporter, bully buster), Jasmeh Deol (news reporter), Harjot Minhas (bully bro), Soniya Minhas (friend to a student being bullied), Gurlal Sidhu (bully bro), Rachel Adams (bully bro), Shrisanth Chandirakumar (student being bullied), Farah Tokhi (student being bullied), Aravend Thavakumaran (student being bullied), Sahib Johar (bully buster) and Anmol Dhaliwal (technical help).
The TIFF Kids Film Festival ran April 17 to 19.
