Gujarat Govt’s beef is unhealthy ad smacks of politics, says Gohil

New Delhi, Sept.8 (ANI): Former Gujarat Congress leader Shakti Singh Gohil on Tuesday said that the state government’s move to declare beef unhealthy as per the Quran is a clear sign of the BJP playing politics on religion through advertisements.

“I have myself seen that Muslims in Gujarat respect cows and do not eat beef. The BJP is only doing politics of religion. They have never read the Gita, the Mahabharata, the Ramayana or the Quran and they make statements without understanding religion. If there is a scarcity of cows then, it is the Muslims who take care of cattle camps,” Gohil told ANI.

On the VHP’s call to Hindus to have a minimum of four children, he said, “The growth of the minority has declined sharply. The government is already running a scheme on family planning, so it should shut down if they want to raise the population of Hindus. The BJP says something, the RSS says something, while the VHP says something else. Their only job is to make votes and notes(money).”

The advertisement in Gujarat has asked people to show respect to cows and avoid eating its meat.

“Show respect to cows, as it is the leader of all bovines. Its milk, ghee and butter have therapeutic properties, but its meat is the cause of several diseases,” the advertisement said.(ANI)
