London, Feb.4 (ANI): England opener Alex Hales has lavished praise on Jos Buttler, describing him as `one of the best one-day players` in the world, after he smashed his fourth ODI century during his side’s 39-run win against South Africa in the opening match at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
The Guardian quoted Hales as saying that 25-year-old Buttler had displayed a different level of cricket against South Africa.
Buttler smacked 11 boundaries and five sixes in his brilliant knock of 105 runs. He secured his century off just 73 balls.
Besides Buttler, Ben Stokes also received praise for his brilliant performance with bat and on the field.
Labelling Stokes’s effort as `extraordinary`, one-day skipper Eoin Morgan said that he had set the tone of the game, adding that he was great to watch.
Stokes scored a swift 57 off 38 balls, which includes four boundaries and three sixes.
With the win, England have taken 1-0 lead in the five-match series and will play their next match against South Africa at St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. (ANI)
