New Delhi, Dec. 15 (ANI): Reacting to the incident of Congress party raising the Dalit killing issue in Punjab, Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday said it was an inter-gang war, and there were so many FIRs registered against both the gangs.
“Police have arrested five accused in this connection, while rest of the accused will soon be arrested. Police are doing their job,” she said, adding: “What is point in stalling Parliament on the state’s issue?”
“Two gangs comprising Dalits and Sikhs clashed in Abohar, in which the limbs of a Dalit man were mutilated, whereas in the same clash, the limbs of a Sikh man were also mutilated, but they are not talking about it, as the Sikhs are not their vote bank,” said Harsimrat, who is a Shiromani Akali Dal Member of Parliament from Bathinda.
“Since the judiciary has summoned the Gandhis in the National Herald case, the Congress Party has been picking up and raising petty issues in Parliament so that there could not be debates on the case and other issues concerning the development of the country,” she said, while slamming the Congress for raising a state-level issue in Parliament.
“The Opposition wants new issues everyday so that they can make the National Herald case a political issue,” Harsimrat added. (ANI)
