Haryana Govt. orders SIT probe in Gohana’s incident

Gohana, Oct.24 (ANI): The Haryana Government on Saturday ordered Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe in the Gohana incident, where a 15-year-old Dalit boy dead body was found.

A three-member committee including DSP level officer from Rohtak and two inspectors will probe the case in a short while here.

15-year-old Govinda’s body was found hanging near his house in Gohana’s Govindpura area on Thursday.

The family claimed that he was charged with stealing a pigeon and then was brutally beaten up while he was in police custody.

The boy was accused of bird theft, but no FIR was registered against him. Two cops asked for money to settle the case outside the police station.

Post-mortem findings have suggested that injury marks found on his body were seven to eight days old.

Two policemen in connection with the incident have been suspended. The police had lodged an FIR against the two cops of Gohana police station-assistant sub-inspectors Subhash and Ashok-and charged them with murder. (ANI)
