Expected to come in September 2013, the film more than once ran into inconvenience apparently because of casting issues and unavailability of on-screen characters who were drawn nearer in the last couple of years.
Says a source, “Ekta feels ‘Milan Talkies’ is jinxed; one on-screen character after another has been turning down the film. She is no longer interested in investing in it.”
With Ekta’s Balaji Telefilms apparently abandoning the venture, there is buzz that the film’s chief Tigmanshu Dhulia (who supplanted Milan Luthria in charge) wants ‘Milan Talkies’ to wind up a reality. “Tigmanshu revamped the script and has an emotional attachment to it. He wants to keep the undertaking alive,” includes the source.
Ekta Kapoor remained unavailable for comment while Tigmanshu denies the buzz. On the other hand, a source near the executive confirms the story and says, “He is now watchful for another maker to make the film.”
