It is a pity special effects didn’t exist during the time of southern action super heroes like MG Ramachandran and Nageswara Rao. But not to worry… Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is more than happy to fill that gaping void quite efficiently.
The official trailer of MSG The Warrior – Lion Heart starring the Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, fondly known as Rockstar Baba, gives us a glimpse of what the great southern action stars would have done in their time.
First I thought MSG referred to monosodium glutamate, a harmful chemical substance that Chinese cafeterias add to flavour their dishes. It is not! MSG here means Messenger of God.
This is even beyond the wildest imagination of James Cameroon or Spielberg. Alien crafts from a galaxy far far away downed with space age bows and arrows and guns I have not seen even in a Hollywood fantasy drama. Flying motorbikes, fearless MSG absorbing all the powers of alien light sabres, the hero defying what looks like a tsunami or something similar to Banzai Pipeline.
Even romancing looks something outlandish. A woman giving to message to MSG’s knees, obviously hurt during flying and riding the flying mobike or an elephant which does not at all look like a jumbo in our planet. Next he is pushing two swings with two beautiful women. That scene displays the softer side of the MSG when taking a well deserved rest from clashing with the invading alien armies.
The trailer is full of his high decibel commands and edicts how a world should be ruled fighting the alien with super natural powers.
World needs a fearless saviour like that and not bad for a film with bad special effects and astrocious acting to garner almost 4 million hits on Youtube in three days!
The saving grace is that no one will come forward to challenge its historical inaccuracies because it does not belong to history of our planet. To me it looks like a genre the Bollywood period film makers have to try, to evade controversies about history!
The movie is the third instalment after first two movies MSG: The Messenger of God and MSG 2: The Messenger.
He is said to have fought against social evils like drugs and gender issues in the earlier parts of the MSG series, but this time he is pitted against the enemies from a different galaxy altogether.
We need more sequels please.
