Heroin valued at Rs 1 crore seized in Bengal, 1 held

Kolkata, April 28 (IANS) Heroin valued at Rs 1 crore has been seized by the NCB officials from West Bengal’s Murshidabad district and one person arrested, an official of the Narcotics Control Bureau’s eastern zonal unit said on Saturday.

The accused was remanded in NCB custody by a Behrampur court on Saturday.

“Jahir Seikh, a resident of Murshidabad district, was arrested from Jaisitala area in Lalgola area on Friday and 460 gm heroin seized from him,” NCB Eastern Zone Regional Director Dilip Kumar Srivastava said in a release.

The drug produced in Lalgola was destined for supply to Kolkata, he added.
