Lucknow native Ali Fazal had no knowledge of Punjabi and it became a problem when he had to play a native from ”the land of five rivers” in Happy Bhag Jaaegi,
Ali never had that Punjabi aura around him but he was determined to fuse more reality into the character thus experimenting with various things.
He believed that it is essential being an actor to put in all the efforts to make the character more realistic and he wanted to learn the language to experiment with the culture.
The problem was overcome by Fukrey team from the film he acted in 2013.
His co-stars including Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha and his director of Fukrey all helped the actor to master a Punjabi accent to put in genuine efforts for his role as Guddu in Happy.
In the movie Ali plays the role of a typical ‘punjabi munda’ for which he had to speak some hardcore Punjabi. – CINEWS
