New Delhi, July 25 (IANS) The national capital experienced a humid day on Monday after a sunny morning and traces of rain at some locations as the maximum temperature settled at 34.6 degrees Celsius, average for the season, the Met Office said. Some rain is likely on Tuesday.
“There would be a generally cloudy day with moderate rain likely to occur on Tuesday,” said an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.
A weather official told IANS that Monday started with bright sun and later became partially cloudy and traces of rains were seen at some locations in the city but it could not bring down the humidity which oscillated between 89 and 66 per cent.
The Palam observatory received 0.8 mm rain while 6.9 mm rain was recorded at Ridge observatory, the weatherman said.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.3 degree Celsius, a notch above the season’s average.
Sunday’s maximum and minimum temperatures settled at 35 and 28.4 degrees Celsius, each one notch above the seasons’s average, respectively.
