Hundreds of talented youth will take the stage this Sunday for the 15th annual STOMP Urban Dance Competition and Showcase. City of Toronto representatives will welcome participants and provide opening remarks to kick off the event.

Time: 1 to 6 p.m., remarks at 1 p.m.
Location: Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, 1 Front St. E. (at Yonge Street)
The event will feature creative performances by about 400 youth from six to 24 years of age from Parks, Forestry and Recreation dance programs and other youth-serving agencies. In addition to featuring various urban dance styles such as step, break, hip-hop, dancehall, bollywood, jazz and contemporary, the event will showcase Toronto’s up-and-coming youth bands, vocalists, rappers and dub poets.
STOMP is one of many youth initiatives developed by Parks, Forestry and Recreation to foster an environment where youth are safe, celebrated and encouraged to showcase their creativity. More information is available at http://www.toronto.ca/stomp. – CINEWS
