New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) launched the Creta in India on Tuesday. The price starts at Rs. 8.59 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 13.60 lakhs. All prices are ex showroom Delhi.
These prices are introductory and may be increased in the coming months.
Creta will come with a 1.6 litre dual VTVT petrol, with a manual six speed transmission. The diesel will be available in two variants: 1.4 and 1.6. A six speed automatic gearbox will be available with the 1.6 diesel variant, while the other will have a six speed manual.
The SUV comes with various features, including navigation system, smart key with push button start and leather seats.
Hyundai plans to export the Creta to Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
“In India, in the past 20 days, at-least 15,000 people have booked the car,” HMIL Managing Director and CEO, B.S. Seo, told reporters.
He also revealed that Rs. 1,000 crores had been spent on the development of the Creta. The car was designed in Korea and fine tuned for Indian conditions by the engineers in Chennai and Hyderabad.
This SUV shall compete with the likes of Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra’s Scorpio and XUV500 and Tata Safari Storme.
“Hyundai plans to sell 4.8 lakh units this year.The Creta will strengthen Hyundai’s position in India. It will define SUV segment in the country,” Seo told the media at the launch.
The Hyundai Creta is available in a total of seven colours: polar white, sleek sliver, pearl beige, stardust, mystic blue, red passion, and phantom black. (ANI)
