Pakistan-born Bollywood actor Fawad Khan has said that acting to him was just a source to make money.
“I couldn’t make money out of coding. I was a terrible computer engineer. I was down and I became an actor to make money,” said the 34-year-old actor while accepting the best film award for his romantic drama ‘Kapoor and sons’ at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
While his co-stars Alia and Sidharth were in America for the Dream Team Tour, the ‘Khoobsurat’ actor was accompanied by Rishi Kapoor and the director of the film.
“I think being honoured with this award, not just on this platform, but also on so many other Indian platforms, goes to show how much love and warmth there is in the audience all around the world,” added Fawad in his thanksgiving speech.
The actor will next be seen in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.’
Khan is also a singer and was one of the members of the band Entity Paradigm, an alternative rock band based in Lahore. Their debut album Irtiqa was released in 2003 but the band was dissolved in 2007.
Khan made his film debut with a supporting role in the 2007 Pakistani movie Khuda Kay Liye. He went on to garner popularity with lead roles in the television shows Dastaan (2010), Humsafar (2011) and Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012). Khan made his Bollywood debut with the leading role of a prince in the 2014 romantic comedy Khoobsurat, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. – CINEWS
