Mumbai, Jan. 29 (ANI): The venue of the second Twenty20 international between India and Sri Lanka on February 12 has been shifted from Delhi to Ranchi after the DDCA confirmed that it wouldn’t be able to host the match.
“The match has now been given to Ranchi, the Jharkhand state cricket association. The three venues for the T20 series against Sri Lanka will be Pune (Feb 9), Ranchi and Visakhapatnam (Feb 14),” BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur told reporters.
“As far as the World cup is concerned, the World cup management committee discussed the issue of the DDCA and has given a deadline till 31st of January till 5pm to come out with the required NOCs so that they can continue as the hosts of the World Cup matches.
If they fail to do so by the deadline, then the BCCI will shift those matches to remaining other seven venues,” Thakur added.
Despite giving deadline extensions on two occasions, the Delhi and District Cricket Association failed to get even a single clearance or permission to host the match. (ANI)
