Indian consulate to attest Indian driving licences

The Indian Consulate is resuming attestation services for Indian Driving licences of Indian nationals living under the Consular Jurisdiction of CGI Toronto, provided applicants fulfill certain conditions. Applicants must provide a print out of verifiable details from the ‘Parivahan Sewa’ website along with the original and copy of his Indian driving licence, copy of Indian passport, copy of valid PR/work permit/study permit/visitor visa, address proof and a fee of $9 payable by bank draft or debit card at the Consulate (365 Bloor Street East, Toronto). The procedure for attestation is provided on the Consulate’s website.

‘Parivahan Sewa’ is a common database of motor driving licences of all states/districts in India provided by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway. Details of Indian driving licences can be verified by using the Indian Driving Licence number and date of birth of the licence holder at httpss://parivahan.gov.in/rcdlstatus/?pur_cd=101.

Indian nationals who need driving licence attestation services can do so at the Consulate on working days.

It must be noted that the Indian Consulate will not take responsibility in case the attested driving licence is not accepted by Canadian authorities. -CINEWS
