Hobart, Feb 5 (ANI): Opener Smriti Mandana’s maiden ton went in vain as Australia women cricket team claimed a six-wicket win over touring Indian side in the second one-day international at Bellerive Oval in Hobart and thereby took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Opting to bat first, India relied on Mandana’s scintillating 102 and captain Mithali Raj’s crucial 58 to make 252 for eight as they were aiming for an equaliser.

However, Australia won the match with 20 balls remaining, thanks to a solid 138-run opening partnership between Nicole Bolton (77) and Meg Lanning (61).

Indian bowlers failed to put pressure on the hosts as Jess Jonassen (29 not out) and Alyssa Healy (29 not out) eased home side to victory in the 46.4 over.
