New Delhi, Feb.19 (ANI): Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup after failing to recover from hamstring injury.
With Shami’s dismissal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been called in to the 15-man squad as his replacement.
According to reports, the selectors had taken a decision in a bid to provide Shami with more time to recover from the grade II injury to his left hamstring.
The 25-year-old pacer made his last appearance for India in World Cup against Australia at the SCG. He played his last T20 international against England in September 2014.
The Asia Cup is slated to be held in Bangladesh from February 24 to March 6, with India playing their opening match against the hosts. (ANI)
