Washington D.C., Jan 13 (ANI): In his final State of the Union address, US President Barack Obama said that instability will continue for decades in many parts of the world, including Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“.Instability will continue for decades in many parts of the world?-?in the Middle East, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, in parts of Central America, Africa and Asia,” Obama said, according to the Dawn.
Obama also said that some of these places might become safe havens for terrorist networks.
He also said that ISIS must be dealt with immediately, defending his approach to taking on the terror group and said that it poses a dangerous threat to the nation but not an existential one.
He called on Congress to help him finally close the war or terror detention center at Guantanamo Bay, which he branded a gift to extremist propagandists seeking to stir anti-American sentiment. (ANI)
