Irrfan Khan will play the lead in Tanuja Chandra’s next film which is going to be a romantic comedy.
Tanuja has made films like the Sanjay Dutt and Kajol-starrer ‘Dushman’ and ‘Sangharsh’, featuring Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta.
Her last film was ‘Hope and A Little Sugar’ in 2006, which premiered and won an award in October, 2006, at the South Asian International Film Festival in New York. It was also the opening film in 2008 for the Opening Night Gala at BAFTA.
“Irrfan has loved the script; Tanuja had been working on it since a long time. It’s a romcom revolving around an unlikely couple that falls in love on a road trip. The film is set in India and will be shooting in November,” said a source close to the project, adding that the 49-year-old actor will start filming after wrapping up Hindi Medium and concluding his promotions for Ron Howard’s Inferno, in which he co-stars alongside Tom Hanks.
Casting for the lead actress is currently underway. “The makers are still scouting for talent for the role,” adds the source. Tanuja was unavailable for comment. – CINEWS
