Actor Irrfan Khan who took to social media to condemn the Dhaka attacks and offer his condolences to the victims may have landed himself in the middle of a controversy once again for questioning the silence of the Muslim community in India and elswwhere  on recent attacks by the ISIS.

The actor flayed the terrorists for bringing a bad name to Islam and also questioned the Muslim community who were a little aroused by the actor’s audacity to question the killing of the ‘Bakra’ in the name of ‘Qurbani’. He mentioned in his post:

“Bachpan mein mazhab ke baare mein kaha gaya tha ki aapka parausi(neighbor) bhooka ho toh aapko usko shamil kiye bina akele khana nehi khana chahiye. Bangladesh ki khabar sunker ander ajeeb vehshat ka sannatta hai…
Quran ki aayeten naa janne ki wajeh se ramzaan ke mahine mein logon ko qatal ker diya gaya. Haadsa ek jagah hota hai , badnaam Islaam aur poori duniya ka musalman hota hai. Woh Islaam jiski buniyaad hi aman, reham aur dusro ka dard mehsoos kerna hai. Aise me kya musalman chup baitha rahe aur mazhab ko badnaam hone de? ya wo khud Islaam ke sahi mayne(meaning) ko smajhe aur doosron ko bataye, ki zulm aur qatlo gharat(massacre) karna Islaam nehi hai.

“Religion in childhood asked people to not eat alone and invite neighbors over if they had empty stomachs. Ever since the attacks in Bangladesh, there has been an atmosphere of fear. People were killed in the month of Ramzan because of the ignorance of the others to the verses of the Quran. One incident somewhere defames Islam and every Musalmaan in the nation: the Islam that is based on peace, mercy and empathy. In such a state, should a Musalmaan stay quiet and let Islam be sullied or should he himself understand the true meaning of Islam and preach that it does not mean atrocity and massacre. This is a question!” – CINEWS
