Is Deepika’s pregnancy comment a dig at Kareena?

Kareena...My pregnancy is not a national casualty.

Kareena…My motherhood is not a national casualty.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is thinking that Deepika Padukone’s remark that “I am not getting married and I am not pregnant,” is aimed at her.

Deepika who is set to mark her debut in Hollywood with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, made the comment when answering her engagement rumours with Ranveer Kapoor.

“I am not getting married and I am not pregnant,” she said in a statement while responding to rumours.

The 35-year-old Udta Punjab actress was reportedly upset because she thought Padukone’s pregnancy comment was aimed at her as she is due to deliver her first baby in December.

“While it makes sense for Dips [Deepika] to deny her engagement and marriage rumours, which have been doing the rounds, Bebo [Kareena] can’t understand why she denied being pregnant because no one said she was!” a source has said.

After announcing the news of her pregnancy, Saif Ali Khan’s wife has been the subject of much scrutiny and has lashed out at the media for covering the news of her impeding motherhood as a “national casualty”.

Previously, Kareena said that she would take a maternity break. Her career and her baby are two completely different things, she said.

“I’m pregnant, not a corpse. It’s the most normal thing on earth to produce a child. It is high time the media back off, and stop treating me any different than I ever was. Anybody who is bothered shouldn’t work with me… but my work goes on as is, like always. Stop making it a national casualty. We are in 2016, not in the 1800s,“ the actress has said.

Following the media coverage of her condition, the actress is reportedly planning to deliver her baby in London. – CINEWS
