Florence, July 21 (IANS/AKI) A 26-year-old Italian man has been arrested near the Tuscan city of Florence for physically abusing his grandparents over a 10-year period, police said on Friday.

The man, who lived with his grandparents in the town of Montelupo, was arrested in nearby Capraia e Limite late on Thursday. He had fled the family home earlier on Thursday after hitting his grandmother because she refused to give him money, according to police.

The man had attacked both of his grandparents repeatedly over the past decade, but they had never previously reported him to police, according to investigators.

The man’s grandmother did not sustain any serious injuries after the latest attack, police said.
