Italy’s Pirlo in talks with MLS side New York City

London, June 24 (ANI): Italian struker Andreas Pirlo is reportedly in talks to sign up with the Major Soccer League (MLS) side New York City, but no agreement has been reached yet.

According to the BBC, Pirlo currently has a year left on his existing contract with Juventus, but has told the Italian champions of his desire to shift to the United States.

The 36-year-old was in Juventus’s starting line-up for the 3-1 Champions League final defeat by Barcelona on June 6.

Pirlo has been part of squads that have won six Serie A titles during spells with AC Milan and Juventus.

He has been a Champions League winner twice with A C Milan and has a World Cup with Italy in 2006 under his belt. (ANI)
