Tokyo, Dec 22 (IANS) Japanese shares ended Tuesday’s trade mixed amid little cues as investors absorbed last week’s moves by the Japanese and the US central banks.
The 225-stock Nikkei Stock Average inched down 29.32 points, or 0.16 percent, from Monday at 18,886.70, Xinhua reported.
On the contrary, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange edged up 2.32 points, or 0.15 percent, to 1,533.60.
Decliners were led by pulp and paper, and wholesale trade issues, while air transport and land transport gained ground.
The day’s turnover was about 1,934.7 billion yen (around $15.96 billion).
