New Delhi, Mar. 27 (ANI): The Janata Dal (United) on Sunday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Government at the Centre for imposing President’s Rule in Uttarakhand, saying that the people of the state have been betrayed by the saffron party.
“I condemn President’s rule in Uttarakhand. People of the state have been betrayed. We are with Congress in this, we will cooperate will Congress,” said senior JD (U) leader KC Tyagi.
Another JD (U) leader Vashishtha Narayan Singh, urged all the political parties to join hands to protest against the BJP’s move.
“The situation is very serious. They want to destroy democracy which is very unfortunate. This has become their habit ; wherever there is an opposition, they are creating complex situations. All the parties should come together and protest,” he said.
After almost seven days of verbal battle between the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the political crisis in Uttarakhand, President’s rule was imposed in the hill state on Sunday.
The Uttarakhand Assembly has been kept in suspended animation following the imposition of President’s rule in the state.
The recommendation for central rule was made by the Union Cabinet at its emergency meeting last night, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress had dubbed the cabinet meeting as the last phase of drama scripted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). (ANI)
