Patna, Nov. 11 (ANI): Comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah to Adolf Hitler, the Janata Dal (United) on Wednesday said the duo has hijacked its party.
“It’s a general perception that Shah and dictatorship have hijacked the party. The veteran leaders of the BJP think that their party used to be a collective party and now it has become the party of only two people,” JD (U) leader Ali Anwar told ANI here.
“Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have bulldozed it. Even Hitler had captured his party and then on the government. The statement has been given in this context only. People were feeling suffocated and they got courage with the Bihar election and now they are speaking,” he added.
Another JD (U) leader Ajay Alok said that if Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah have morality, they would take the responsibility of the Bihar debacle.
“It’s their personal matter. We don’t say anything below the belt. Someone has to take the responsibility. After the Lok Sabha election, Nitish Kumar had given resignation. He had set an example of morality. If they have morality, they will take the responsibility,” Alok told ANI here.
“We have been saying from the very beginning that it is a new BJP. They have new technique, new concept, new language and new ideology,’ he added.
Lal Krishna Advani and three other BJP veterans have issued a strong statement on the party’s defeat in Bihar, demanding a thorough review and criticising its stand on the debacle.
“The results of Bihar election show that no lesson has been learnt from fiasco in Delhi,” said the statement signed by Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha.
The BJP top brass, however, issued a counter statement in response, saying they have been ‘fortunate’ to be led by Advani for decades and welcomed any guidance and suggestion by the senior leaders. (ANI)
