Hollywood star John Abraham says he is clueless about the development of the third instalment of Hera Pheri franchise.
Hera Pheri is a 2000 Indian comedy directed by Priyadarshan starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty and Tabu. It is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film Ramji Rao. It was based on the 1971 TV movie See The Man Run. The film spawned a sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006. Hera Pheri 3 was to succeed Phir Hera Pheri.
The third part of the comedy series was announced with Abhishek Bachchan, John, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal over a year ago. According to report, the producers have not yet gone ahead with the project due to financial constraints.
The first film, which released in 2000, starred Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. It was directed by Priyadarshan. Its sequel Phir Hera Pheri, produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, featured the same cast. Nadiadwala was supposed to produce the third instalment.
“We launched the film. I heard Abhishek Bachchan dropped out but I have not communicated on this with him. It’s producers prerogative to tell us what is happening,” said John.
The Madras Cafe star, however, said that if the film goes on floor he would be open to be a part of it. John is currently enjoying the success of his film Dishoom, co-starring Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. – CINEWS
