Will Kabali be the Sultan of Southern cinema? Kalaipuli Thanu, the producer of the movie says that they are sure that they will make Rs 200 crores in the first three days. The movie is being released in 12,000 screens across the world, this is more than double the number of screens that Sultan was released in.
On the other hand, the Kabali teaser has outperformed Sultan’s teaser to become the most watched trailer with 25 million views and still counting!
The reports say a ticket for Sultan cost Rs 1500 in Mumbai and in Bangalore too Kabali ticket cost the same.
“But let me tell you that in Tamil Nadu with just Rs 120/80 and 50 a ticket we will bring in 200 crores. So imagine what will happen then? We will be collecting ten times more than Sultan,” said a proud yet anxious Kalaipuli Thanu.
The movie has been interesting in many ways. For the first time it is being released in 1000 cinemas in the North India. Never before has any Southern movie seen such a release. Kabali is also the first Indian film to be released across all Asian countries. Here comes the interesting part, in China alone the movie will be screened in 4500 screens! In Malaysia, Kabali will be shown in 300 screens and a similar number of screens in Indonesia and Japan. – CINEWS
