Kalam’s death irreparable loss to nation’: Naidu

New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday condoled the death of A.P.J Abdul Kalam saying that the former president’s demise is an irreparable loss to the nation.

“The sudden death of former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has shocked the entire nation. Dr. Kalam was a great son of this country; his death is an irreparable loss to the country and people. Real tribute to Dr. Kalam would be by following simplicity, honesty, integrity and living for the country,” said Naidu.

“Dr. Kalam always inspired young generation to think big & have dreams and work hard to achieve those dreams. Dr. Abdul Kalam was a guide, motivator, philosopher and a visionary to the entire nation,” he added.

Kalam’s mortal remains were flown to Delhi from Guwahati earlier today.

Army personnel paid tributes to the former president in Shillong before his body flown to Guwahati.

Both the Houses of Parliament are likely to make obituary references and adjourn today as a mark of respect to the former president’s memory.

On Monday, Kalam passed away in Shillong after he was admitted to a hospital in the city.

The former president collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management. He was in a critical condition and had been admitted to the city’s Bethany Hospital.

Kalam served as the 11th President on India from 2002 to 2007. (ANI)^
