Kashyap bows out of French Open after retiring

Paris, Oct.22 (ANI): Commonwealth Games champion Parupalli Kashyap bowed out of the French Open Super Series after retiring midway in the men’s singles second round contest against Rajiv Ouseph on Thursday.

Although the eighth-seeded Indian produced a strong fightback after losing the opening game, he subsequently conceded the match 21-11, 13-21, 4-2 against England’s Rajiv Ouseph.

Earlier on Wednesday, Kashyap defeated local boy Thomas Rouxel 21-11, 22-20 to advance to the second round. (ANI)
