New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday appealed for donations for the Aam Aadmi Party, claiming that the political organisation has become impoverished after winning the assembly elections in the national capital.
“After we came to power, our funds got exhausted. Now we want funds to run our party and we want it from the public. The public has funded us and we never took any money under the table. We gave a record of every rupee we got,” Kejriwal told ANI.
“We are indebted to the people for their help. But now we need funds for our day-to-day expenses. You would say I am a bizarre CM by asking for funds like this. We can get money the wrong way but that is not who we are,” he added.
The Kejriwal-run AAP won the Delhi elections by a landslide, bagging 67 of the 70 seats. (ANI)
