Kissing man sought by York Police; three women assaulted

York Regional Police is seeking the assistance of the  public assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with three sexual assaults in the Town of Newmarket.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 2:25 p.m., a 16-year-old female victim was walking in the area of Doubletree Lane and Austin Paul Drive when she was approached by a male suspect who grabbed her face and attempted to kiss her. The victim was able to get away from the suspect and was not physically injured during the incident. The suspect fled the area in a grey or silver four-door car that was parked nearby.

In a second, similar incident on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at approximately 6 p.m., a male suspect approached a 20-year-old female who was walking in the area of Mulock Drive and Doubletree Lane from behind. He grabbed her face and kissed her. The suspect let go of the victim and fled on foot.

The police have released this description: Male, olive skin, 20 to 30 years, Approximately 5’10”, Stocky build, broad shoulders, Round, chubby face, Short black hair, clean shaven, Small sparkly stud earring, Suspect Vehicle: Older model Toyota Camry or Mazda 626, Four door, Light grey or silver, Possible damage to the vehicle

Following recent media attention, an additional woman came forward to recently report that on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 1:15 a.m., the 21-year-old victim was waiting at a bus shelter on Yonge Street at London Road when she was approached by a male suspect. The male grabbed the victim’s face and attempted to kiss her. After a short struggle, the suspect ran away east on London Road.

These incidents are not believed to be connected to the five other reported sexual assaults – grabbing of buttocks –  in the north-end of Newmarket.
