Lalu says Nitish is scented sandalwood, while BJP is a ‘snake’

Patna, July 22 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has clarified that his ‘snake’ jibe was aimed at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“He has clarified it. Nitish ji has said it in the context of BJP,” he told the media here.

Nitish had during a conversation on Twitter likened himself with ‘sandalwood’ (chandan) when someone asked him how he would carry on the development projects by joining hands with Lalu.

As soon as the Bihar Chief Minister posted a couplet by famous poet Rahim, the reference to the ‘snake’ was quickly interpreted as directed at Lalu.

The Bihar Chief Minister earlier today clarified his tweet and said that his barb was aimed at the BJP.

“I answered to a question where I said my agendum is development of Bihar. I wrote a couplet by Kabir because people know BJP spreads poison. Even by wrapping itself around me, BJP’s poison could not affect me,” Nitish said.

The Bihar Chief Minister has launched a new engagement initiative on Twitter ‘#AskNitish’.

The users can direct any question to him. They can tweet using the hashtag #AskNitish and the Chief Minister would be addressing their queries every Tuesday and Saturday.

This public engagement initiative by Nitish, who has joined hands with his former adversary Lalu Prasad Yadav for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls, is aimed at reaching out to the young demography present on social media. (ANI)
