Actress Sonam Kapoor said that language should not curb an actor’s enthusiasm and that she is open to do films of any language if the script and her character is good.
At a special screening of the Punjabi film Chauthi Koot, Sonam was asked if she would do a Punjabi film, and said, “I don’t know the language; I do understand it. I understand Sindhi and Hindi more, but why not? I don’t think, as an actor, a language should curb your enthusiasm.”
“If I like the story and if it is Punjabi, Chinese, Hindi, Marathi, Russian, French or any language, I will do it if I like the character,” she added.
Actresses like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are currently doing films in Hollywood. Films in Russian or Chinese or French have not been tried often by Indian actors.
The only one in recent times that can be considered is Sonu Sood and Amyra Dastur working with superstar Jackie Chan in Kung Fu Yoga.
