Colombo, Sept. 20 (ANI): A Sri Lankan court has ordered to remand a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) over charges of illegal treasure hunting after he surrendered to the police.
According to Lanka Page, DIG U.K. Dissanayake was wanted for his alleged involvement in illegal treasure hunting till September 23, the police said.
As per the police, the DIG was under investigation on charges of aiding and abetting a treasure hunt in Vavuniya three months ago.
The police have already arrested seven suspects, including three police officers, linked to the DIG’s office. (ANI)
