Lankan Govt. to implement new salary structure for state sector

Colombo, Feb 25 (ANI): The Sri Lankan Government has received an approval from the Cabinet Ministers to implement a new salary structure for the state sector.

The new salary structure for the state service will be effective from January 1, 2017, and the relevant circular is to be issued by the Ministry of Public Administration and Management, reports Lanka Page website.

President Maithripala Sirisena has proposed to appoint a new Salaries and Cadre Commission, comprising learned and experienced officers to broadly and formally review the salary structures and cadre requirements.

The President in his manifesto gave necessary measures to improve efficiency and raise productivity of the public service and improve living conditions and office work satisfaction of the public servants.

President’s proposal has been approved at a Cabinet meeting. (ANI)
