Beijing, April 20 (IANS) Strongly taking on existing smartphone companies, Chinese global internet and technology conglomerate LeEco launched three “superphones” at an event here on Wednesday along with other devices like a range of television sets and the world’s first driverless concept Super Car.
The action packed event, where people thronged in to watch the unveiling of smart phone devices and other products, was a major development in the field of technology.
Throwing a direct challenge to the Apple Iphone 6 plus, LeEco group founder and chairman Jia Yueting unraveled the Le Max2 for Chinese smartphone users along with two more superphones Le 2 and Le 2 Pro.
“We want to break barriers between humans and devices. Our products are manufactured in focus with ecosystem-driven innovation. We are in an eco-technology era. People may not initially believe us but once used, Max2 will prove why it is better than Apple Iphone 6 plus,” said Jia at the event.
Weighing 153 grams, 8.5 mm in width and 151 mm long, the Max2 comes with USB Type-C audio port feature CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) technology to offer high-quality audio that makes it stand apart from rest of the smartphones, the founder claimed.
With three different desktops for the mobile screen, the Le Max 2 comes with live streaming of three channels at a time, which the founder added, will be upped to nine very soon.
“Cloud video is our priority. We had spent a year working on live broadcasts. Even Facebook broadcast our event live,” Jia added.
Available with 6GB internal memory and 64GB extendable memory, Le Max 2 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display along with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor.
Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS wrapped under LeEco’s customized EUI 5.5, the superphone comes equipped with a 3,100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 feature and connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, VoLTE and GPS among others.
The founder also claimed that the touch speed of Le Max 2 is 20 times faster than the
Iphone 6 plus.
Flaunting its 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, the LeEco Le 2 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 tri-cluster deca-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The CDLA featre is available in Le 2 and Le 2 Pro as well.
The phone is equipped with a 16 MP f/2 rear camera with PDAF and LED flash and an 8 MP camera up front.
With a very similar appearance, LeEco Le 2 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X25 deca-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB internal storage variants. With a 21 MP rear camera and 8 MPfront camera, connectivity options and the battery capacity are similar as Le 2.
All three “superphones” have a metal unibody design, thin bezels on the front and a fingerprint scanner for extra security.
The devices will be available in the Chinese market from April 26, with the Le 2 priced at 1099 RMB ($170), L2 Pro at 1499 RMB and Le Max 2 at 2099 RMB.
